Steven
Stubbs

Twenty years of broadcast television and online series production as screenwriter, director and editor. Now developing AI-native vertical micro-series, both original IP and client projects.

Vertical Micro-Series

Finished episodes, native 9:16.

Complete demo episodes built for streaming micro-drama platforms — shot composition, episode architecture, paywall structure and binge mechanics designed for vertical from the first frame, never cropped down from widescreen. Three genres, one pipeline.

Period dramaHistorical epic — crowd scenes, practical costume, dusk exteriors.
Contemporary dramaDomestic realism with burned-in subtitles for sound-off viewing.
Supernatural high school dramaTeen conflict with something else underneath — tight coverage, physical action beats.

Original Series

Developed and produced in-house.

Original IP written, directed and produced end to end — from series architecture and beat sheets through to finished, platform-ready episodes.

Helen Of TroyOSTrailer. Sci-fi tech thriller — an engineer builds the chip that could run every AI on Earth.
Helen Of TroyOSEpisode one, from the produced pilot block.
My Portuguese Werewolf LoverSizzle reel. Supernatural romance — pilot complete, 30 episodes architected.
Marina Del CrimePreview. Animated sitcom — aquatic detectives, high crimes and fish demeanours.

Visual Range

One pipeline, any aesthetic.

Every commissioned series gets its own visual identity. The same production architecture delivers photoreal live-action-grade footage, painterly illustration, or anime — the look is a decision, not a limitation.

Hyper-realPhotoreal drama with live-action-grade performance.
PaintedPainterly mid-century illustration, moving.
AnimeStylised character animation with genre-native staging.

The Pipeline

Script in, episode out.

A programmatic script-to-screen workflow with broadcast-trained creative direction at the helm — screenplay, frame generation, motion, voice and audio, editorial assembly, platform delivery. Built to run at slate scale rather than one-off, and produced both in-house and remotely.

Programmatic Script-to-Screen WorkflowThe pipeline running end to end.

One Minute Movies

One-minute films, ongoing.

I’ve set myself the challenge of making a 1 minute short each week — to keep on top of fast evolving generative tools and experiment with prompt optimisation — and because it’s fun! A different story, period and treatment each time. Watch the series on YouTube.

Temporary People — #1Rom-com conversations set in 1977 Manhattan. Photoreal proof of concept.
One Minute MoviesSeaside kiosk, cash only. Contemporary Ireland.
One Minute MoviesNouvelle Vague pastiche — 1960s Paris, black and white.
One Minute MoviesTwo-hander to camera. Domestic, naturalistic.
One Minute MoviesClose, warm and wordless — hands, a model aeroplane, a kitchen table.

Comedy & Satire

Spoof shows.

Comedy runs through the whole career — sitcom, stand-up and web series. Spoof formats only land when they are played entirely straight, which is how these are made. Presenters, studios, graphics and locations all generated.
